Inspired by Lars von Trier’s slow motion scenes in Melancholia, Sarah wanted to experiment with slow motion for the first time. She also made the decision to experiment with shooting video in a RAW codec. This was shot using two Ursa Mini 4.6K video cameras. While shooting this video Sarah began to notice the movement of the drift wood against the quiet movement of the water. She decided to create two separate videos, one showing the interaction of the human and the drift wood against the water, while the other shows a sort of alternate reality, playing with time and perception. For this installation they were projected onto juxtaposing walls, in a small room, forcing the viewer to stand between the two videos.
