RESIDUE
In an attempt to explore the idea of life, or residue left behind by a person after their passing, Sarah created this video based on color scopes. She filmed various locations and objects that reminded her of both the beauty of life, as well as the transition of death. From there she examined the color scopes as a visible image of the “residue” of the videos. She recorded the scopes and let them play out alongside the original videos. At the end you can see the transformation from scope to video. This shows and expresses the idea that everyone leaves a residue of their life behind after they are gone. That physical, recognizably tangible form is temporary and will inevitably part ways, leaving behind something ungraspable.
